## Eligibility & Restrictions

Open to anyone worldwide (no residency requirement as of 2024/2025). Finnish individual: personal identity number (DDMMYYCZZZQ, 11 chars) required. Non-Finnish individual: birth date required. Finnish company: business registration number. Foreign company: business registration number. EU citizen can use personal ID.

## Registration

Registry allows up to 5 years. We currently offer 1 year. Transfer does NOT renew domain.

## Transfer Procedure

Auth code (transfer key) created by losing registrar at registry; valid 30 days. Transfer key ≠ trade key. Using wrong code causes 'invalid code' error.

> Trade key ≠ transfer key. Requesting the wrong type causes 'invalid code' failure. Auth code only available from losing registrar (who generates it at registry).

## Registrant Change

Trade requires separate trade key (different from transfer auth code). Trade key sent to registrant by registry. Registry does NOT send confirmation email to domain contacts after trade. Tech handle for trade must be a company with registration number.

## Renewal & Deletion

Standard renewal. Grace period exists after expiry.

## Restore / Redemption Grace Period

Grace period after expiry. Restore process via registrar.

## WHOIS / Privacy

Privacy services available. WHOIS accuracy required per NIS2. Domain names must not infringe protected trademarks/business names in Finland or EU.

## NIS2 Compliance

NIS2 regulation M68 in force Aug 18, 2025. Cyber Meter (Kybermittari) required from registrars by Jan 31, 2026. Registrars must collect/maintain accurate WHOIS data; 72-hour response to legitimate WHOIS access requests.
