# Reminder email for expiring certificates

Because expiring TLS/SSL certificates are not automatically renewed (AutoRenew), each expiring TLS/SSL certificate must be manually renewed. Many CAs send several reminder emails to the certificate owner and some also to the technical contact before the certificate expires. Some CAs send a last reminder even after the expiration date (Expire). No reminder emails are sent for Basic SSL certificates.

## Expire reminder in the SSL Manager

For certificates from CAs that do not send reminder emails, the SSL Manager offers a function that allows you to create reminder emails so that you do not miss a renewal. You can also create reminders for expiring Basic SSL Certificates here. You can either set up a weekly reminder email or emails with summary reports on specific dates, namely 90, 60, 30, 21, 14, 7, and 3 days before the certificate expires.

How to open Expire Reminder Settings:

- Menu group **User Management**
- Menu entry **User Configuration**
- **User Profile** in the main area
- Tab **TLS/SSL Certificates**
