Cloud servers are an ideal solution to start your project quickly and flexibly.

Basic information

Cloud servers are virtualized servers that are flexibly scalable. Hosted on the InterNetX shared hosting server, which is based on reseller technology.

What distinguishes InterNetX cloud servers from other virtual servers

  • Managed Service bookable
  • One IPv4 / IPv6 address each.
  • Plesk included
  • Guaranteed resources on our dedicated system (no "overcommitment")
  • Flexible and scalable configuration
  • Simple increase of resources in live operation and without complex migration
  • Intuitive management via ISAC with practical tools
  • High security and comprehensive configuration options through KVM virtualization
  • SSD caching for high performance

Functions for professionals

  • Different operating systems available (CentOS, Debian, Ubuntu, Windows 2016) - pre-installed or as ISO.
  • Efficient server management: Server control (start/stop/reboot/shutdown), access to passwords and accounts, PTR management and much more.
  • Snapshots: The snapshot feature allows the cloud server to be easily reset to a previous state after an update or similar.
  • API: a detailed RESTful API is available
  • VNC console: Execute commands directly on the server by opening the console from your ISAC account.
  • RESCUE console: You can perform file system checks and the like yourself.

Resource selection

Resources can be selected based on requirements, whereby parameters are automatically adjusted during selection if necessary to ensure balanced performance.

The smallest configuration includes 1vCPU, 1 GB RAM and 50GB SSD. When using Plesk, at least 2GB RAM is recommended.

Basically, the installed packages do not differ, making the server versatile (e.g. as mail AND web server). The listed configuration suggestions provide an indication of which resources have proven themselves for different use cases.

Mail server: 3vCPU, 4GB RAM, 150GB SSD

Web server: 4vCPU, 8GB RAM, 300GB SSD

Database server: 4vCPU, 16GB RAM, 200GB SSD

Order

A detailed description of the ordering procedure can be found in the menu Order Cloud Server

Changes can be made afterwards:

  • Upgrade of resources
  • PTR record
  • Own designation
  • Optional services, e.g. TrafficFlat
  • Plesk Edition (e.g. from WebPro to WebHost Edition)

A later change / modification is not possible

  • between manged service / unmanaged
  • Admin panel (e.g. without panel on Plesk)
  • Operating system (e.g. Windows to CentOS)
  • IP address (assigned automatically)

In case of incorrect orders please contact the server sales team vertrieb@internetx.com.

Action menu

The Actions menu can be found in the dashboard and the overviews on the left side of the respective server. The items that can be selected may differ according to the scope booked.

In the managed service

UPGRADE: Increase resources

TOOLS: Listing of IP addresses, statistics etc.

TO PLESK PANEL opens link to the panel (Port: 8443)

ACCESSES: with the initial passwords

For unmanaged servers

CONTROL: Increase (adjust) resources, shut down server, restart, reinstall or mount ISO if necessary

REMOTE: Open SSH or VNC console

SNAPSHOT: Create snapshot and view

TOOLS: Listing of IP addresses, statistics etc.

TO PLESK PANEL opens link to the panel (Port: 8443)

ACCESSES: with the initial passwords

Switch to dedicated servers

If you have multiple cloud servers or if your resource requirements increase, it makes sense to switch to a bare metal server or a reseller cloud. Since all products are based on the same technologies, they are compatible with each other.

When switching to the Reseller Cloud the following differences arise:

  • With the Cloud Server the IP addresses are from the InterNetX network area, with Bare Metal / Reseller Cloud with own RIPE handling (whitelabel to your customers), which changes the IP address.
  • Noisy neighbours" are omitted on your own dedicated systems.
  • With the instances of the Reseller Cloud, RAM and CPU can be upgraded and downgraded retrospectively (with the Cloud Server, only enlarge). Also the allocation of resources is more flexible with the Reseller Cloud, e.g. by more combination possibilities and 0.5vCPU can be allocated.
  • The monthly fee of the Managed Service per instance (Reseller Cloud) is discounted.
  • With Reseller Cloud: With the additional internal VLAN, instances with internal IP address can be started up - extended security, e.g. for development projects
