Eligibility & Restrictions
Since September 14, 2022: .TR managed by TRABİS (BTK) instead of NIC.TR (METU). Major deregulation: .com.tr, .net.tr, .org.tr, .web.tr, .biz.tr, .gen.tr, .name.tr, .info.tr, .tv.tr, .tel.tr, .bbs.tr now allocated WITHOUT documentation on first-come-first-served basis. Direct .tr: restricted, requires special permission. Restricted SLDs (.av.tr, .bel.tr, .dr.tr, .edu.tr, .gov.tr, .pol.tr, .k12.tr, .tsk.tr, .kep.tr): documentation required. Banking/financial terms ('bank', 'banka', 'finance', 'leasing', 'factoring'): strict eligibility and documentation per Turkish financial regulators.
Post-TRABIS (Sep 2022): most common SLDs (.com.tr, .net.tr, .org.tr) no longer require trademark or business documentation. First-come-first-served. This is a major change from the pre-2022 regime.
Registrant changes currently NOT possible until further notice from TRABİS. Domain sale/transfer under Article 13 became possible from September 14, 2025.

1-5 years maximum (not 10). Documents required: registration suspended until approved. Banking/financial term domains require additional regulatory approval.

- Documents may suspend: Registry may require documents for create or transfer. Order suspended until approved.
- Banking terms restricted: Domains containing 'bank', 'banka', 'finance', 'leasing', 'factoring': strict eligibility + regulatory approval.
- 5-year max: Maximum allocation period 5 years, not 10.
- Domain sale from Sep 2025: Article 13 (domain sale/transfer) became possible from 14 September 2025.
